This recipe works as a fantastic snack. Chicken tenders is the ultimate comfort food and this recipe can be made at home with good quality ingredients.  These chicken tenders are exactly like what you’d get at a KFC or any other fast food joint and the recipe is really simple. Ingredients

500 grams of Boneless Chicken Breast

2-3 teaspoons of Red Chilli Powder or Paprika

2-3 Teaspoons of Salt

2-3 Teaspoons of Pepper

1 Teaspoon of Cumin ( optional )

300 Grams of Flour

1 Egg

Oil for deep frying

Method

Cut the chicken breast into strips about 2 inches thick in size. Marinate them with one teaspoon of salt, red chilli powder and pepper each. Mix well it it all coats the chicken well.

In another bowl, add a cup of flour, an egg and a teaspoon of red chilli powder, pepper and salt ( cumin is optional ). Add a little water and start mixing it together. It will start to form a lumpy mixture. Just keeping adding water little at a time to thin it out till you eventually get a thick batter to coat the chicken ( check the video ) please don’t add too much water at one time or the batter will be too runny. Once ready set it aside and assemble your dredging station.

In a flat dish add about 3 cups of flour and your seasonings, again about a teaspoon of red chilli powder pepper salt and cumin or any other spices you personally like. Mix it through.

Now dip one of the chicken strips in the batter till it coats the chicken well. Drain any excess batter and place the chicken in the dish with flour and cover the chicken completely so that the flour presses on and form an outer covering. Place it on a plate and continue the process with all the chicken strips.

In a deep bottom vessel heat your oil and once it’s nice and hot add in your chicken strips one at a time. Cook till the chicken is nice and crispy for about 5 – 7 minutes. In case you’re cooking this in a pan like I have in the video, make sure you cook it on either side for about 3-5 minutes and flip over. Once it’s golden brown, drain it on a paper towel and serve hot with a dipping sauce or ketchup.

How To Serve Chicken Tenders

You can serve these chicken tenders as is or with any sauce or dip of your choice. I like to make a quick sweet spicy glaze with a little honey and hot sauce or sriracha and dip the tenders in that. You can serve chicken tenders with ketchup as well.

Can I Store Chicken Tenders

This unfortunately doesn’t stay very well. You can keep leftovers in the fridge and re heat it the next day. However they won’t taste the same and will lose some amount of crispiness so ideally the Chicken Tenders need to be eaten fresh.
